Wedding - Shae and Trevor

It's almost been two weeks since I photographed this really fun wedding, but at long last I will post a BLOG entry, sorry for the delay.

Shae and Trevor were my last October wedding and had their reception at The Highwood on the SAIT campus. The food was really good and the space is pretty funky too.

The happy couple just before the first kiss.

Trevor is from the UK and had his brothers stand up for him. They joked all day long and I couldn't understand a thing they were saying.

Shae has a great smile.

Self Torture

I made the mistake of ordering new skis this year. They are sitting in the living room and all I can do right now is look at them. It's painful. I was on the Mountain Equipment Coop website today and forgot that they had licensed one of my all time favourite skiing photos for their homepage. Since they cropped it and didn't do a very good job of optimizing it for the web I thought I would post the original. It was taken on New Years Day of 2005, deep in the B.C. Purcells backcountry. Hopefully days like that aren't too far off!

Family Session - Angie's Family

These guys were lots of fun. Actually, I had to tell them to stop laughing at one point to get the photo I wanted. Angie, you have a beautiful home and some not too shabby looking kids!

Wedding - Angie and Mike

I am a skier at heart. I don't mention it much on the BLOG, but those who have been following my photographic career know that I do submit a fair amount of photography to the greater skiing industry. I am also a bit of a magazine junkie and basically just look at the pictures and read the photo credits. So I knew of Mike, but had never met him. I realize that I will be loosing the majority of you at this point, but I like to refrain from using last names on the BLOG as much as possible. So if you are a snowboarding fan, you'll know Mike. If you aren't well, here are my favourite photos from Angie and Mike's wedding.

As you will see, Angie likes lime green. She likes it a lot. In fact, I bet at some point it probably crossed her mind that she could wear a lime green wedding dress. That would have been cool, but this white was pretty nice too!

A shot of the ring going on.

Angie's parents as the rings are being exchanged.

I love Grandma's expression in the bottom left.

The newlywed couple just after the ceremony. These guys like kissing.

Photographing big groups can be tough if you don't want them to all look stiff and bored. Getting a group to "perform" is an art in and of its own, so when I get this kind of a result I am pretty happy. By the way, this was a great bunch of people and they deserve the credit for being such a fun group.

Couldn't resist this one.

This was my favourite shot of the girls, even though there was a boy in it.

The guys.

I love motion in photos. This one isn't technically perfect, but its one of my favourites from the day.

The Crave wedding cake. Hands down the best cake in town. I thought it was hilarious that they both took a little knife and cut a little cake, but when I looked around no one seemed to be sharing my laughter. Guess I am just a bit weird eh?

Family Portrait Session - Kael

On Friday we photographed Kael (and his parents). He likes the camera, or at least chewing on the strap.

Wedding - Miranda and Todd

A lot of photography has happened in the last 10 days and I'm struggling to keep up with the BLOG entries. Miranda married Todd on October 14th. Again, I seem to always end up with the nicest clients. Miranda kept asking me if it was "OK to take a photo of...."? Definitely not the bossy type. After buzzing around town for a bit we ended up at the zoo where their reception was. I felt right at home in that place :)

This little guy was so happy to have a big role. They had to monitor his water intake though so that he would make it through the whole ceremony.

Portrait Session - Jon Angevine

I was recently commissioned by Jon Angevine to create some portraits of him for promotional uses. Jon is a realtor in Calgary. I didn't know him before we met for the shoot, but after spending an hour with him I would have to say he is exactly the kind of person I would want to deal with if I were buying or selling a home. He's a genuinely nice guy and wanted to get some portraits that showed he is a bit different than some of the other realtors in town. If you are interested, here is his website: www.calgaryhouselistings.com
