Wedding - Julie and Kurt

I was a bit nervous about this wedding. I was concerned that an Australian girl with about 9% body fat wasn't going to be too keen on standing around in a snow bank while I played with my cameras. I didn't know the whole story though. Julie (and Kurt) is a backcountry skier, which you won't last at if you don't like the cold. So with my mind at ease and her in a brand new sparkling white pair of Sorels we headed out into the 4 foot snow pack and had a great time creating their wedding images. Here are the photos.

Kurt could possibly miss Canada a bit. Raised in Cochrane, I found him and his brother taping a hockey stick before the ceremony.

The short winter days chased us inside to the lodge.

This entry is getting a bit long so I thought this would be a good way to summarize the reception, which was every bit as, warm, cozy and inviting as this shot.

e-session Julie and Kurt

My first wedding of 2007 happened last weekend at Emarld Lake, in Yoho National Park. Julie and Kurt live deep down under in Sydney and had some time before the wedding to meet me for a warm up session. I had never met them before and I was so excited for their wedding (I'll blog that in a day or two) after I saw how well they did in front of the camera.

e-session Lori and Jeff

I have a few weddings scheduled in 2007 for couples who are from the Calgary area, but are living overseas. It nice to be able to meet them before the actual wedding day, so I scheduled a few engagement sessions with couples like Jeff and Lori who were home for the holidays. The weather was almost balmy (for January). I am looking forward to your wedding guys!

Wedding - Ailsa and Frank

Ailsa and Frank were my last wedding of 2006 and they were blessed with a perfect winter day. We started off up at the Banff Springs with the couple and their attendants, and then moved downtown and eventually out of town for photos before the ceremony at St. Georges in the Pines. The reception was held at Fuze Finer Dining and once again the food and ambiance was amazing. Ailsa is the sister of Aric, who's wedding we photographed in June of this year.

Aric's wife, Jen, helps with the final preparations.

Ahh, what winter is supposed to look like. Notice Frank's fine felt packed wedding shoes by Sorel.
