Engagement - Angela and Felix

Calgary weather is so weird. I did an engagement session for Angela and Felix yesterday, January 23rd. It's supposed to be cold. A skirt and open toed shoes and we were outside for two hours! I think Angela is still a bit tougher than normal though.

In the office

Here's a sequence of our buddy Pete getting a face full of cold smoke. We snuck out on a Friday to take advantage of all the new snow. It was pretty funny seeing Pete pull his phone out after the 3rd run and check in with work.

In the office, Kootenay style. Pete runs an IT business in Cranbrook. His clients know not to expect him to be in town after a big dump.

Winter at last!

You wouldn't know it living here in Calgary, but there is actually a lot of snow falling in the mountains. Here are a few shots from last weekend of our friend Karl. Karl's from New Zealand, so he talks real funny, but he likes to ski so we put up with him.

Karl going up through the snow ghosts.

Coming down

Going back up.

Wedding - Lyndsay and Shawn

2005 has been a pretty good year for our business and it was great to spend the last day of the year photographing Lyndsay and Shawn’s wedding. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Executive Royal Inn, while the couple and there wedding party rushed over to Stephen Avenue in between for a photo session. Even though the temperature was above freezing, it still felt pretty cold.

I was happy to see I was amongst Flames fans. Flames beat the Oilers 5-4, now that is a happy ending!

Wedding - Jeannine and Chris

One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary is Piato, which was the venue chosen by Jeannine and Chris for their wedding on the eve of New Year’s Eve. The intimate ceremony took place in front of the fire and was celebrated with a reception that featured some of the best food in Calgary, great speeches, and lots of laughter mixed with tears. It was a great night and I was honoured to be there.
