Wedding - Suneeta and Scott

I love photographing weddings in Calgary, but it's nice to get out of town once and a while. I was thrilled to be photographing Suneeta and Scott getting married at the Riverview B&B near Okotoks on Sunday. Suneeta admits to being a maudieblog junkie, so the pressure was on to get something up this week. Hope you guys enjoy it!

I like to try and do a quick portrait session with the bride just before the ceremony starts. Wow, Suneeta looked amazing.

An overview of the ceremony above the Sheep River.

Suneeta's family during the vows.

There were some really tall people in the wedding party. One of the bigger guys wanted to demonstrate his cart wheel technique. Who says bridal party shots can't have action.

Wedding - Kazumi and Jonathan

Kazumi and Jonathan broke from tradition and did their photo shoot before the ceremony. It was great having lots of time to cross the city with them and the wedding party and I was really happy that the weather worked out for them.

Some of the wedding party were giving Kazumi a hard time because I guess she doesn't dress up that often and I think they were shocked to see how well she cleaned up!

This is the back of an outhouse. Not romantic, but great light.

Front row seats.

The wedding party was so fun to work with. Thanks guys.

The big finish. 6 out of 10 for the ass grab though. You'll need to work on that Jonathan. It's all in the wrists.

rest day.... kind of

I photographed a couple great weddings this weekend and you'll see them here in the next few days. I decided to take a well deserved (at least in my opinion) day off yesterday and join Aric, Karl and Jo, and Kipp. It was hot, there was no trail and we had a great time.

Aric and Kipp (plus Tana) and a lot of forest fire smoke.

Wedding - Joanne and Kevin

On Saturday we photographed Joanne and Kevin's wedding. After a nice ceremony in the morning (well actually noon'ish by the time things got started, but that's a long story and mainly Kevin's fault, right Joanne!) we toured around town with ample time to create lots of memories for them. I don't feel like writing a novel right now, so lets just get to the photos.

Let me see!

The reception was at the Palliser Hotel. These are a few of the details.

It's a Chinese tradition to toast each table and I love it because it creates some great candid moments.

Wedding - Natasha and Brian

I was back in Golden last Friday for another eye pleaser at the Eagle's Eye Restaurant on top of the Kicking Horse Resort. Natasha and Brian came all the way out from Winnipeg for a mountain wedding.

Another great bouquet by Stephanie Laprairie of Stems Floral Gallery in Calgary.

The half million dollar foot bridge in Golden is one of my favourite locations anywhere. And yes, Brian is very tall.

A detail from the reception. One of the guests asked me if I saw the minature "nunchucks" on the table. I am going to cut him some slack because he was likely from Manitoba :)

Natasha and the brides maids arrived in a helicopter and none of the guests were in on the secret. They made a few close passes before landing. The guests were very fired up.

I am pretty good a identifying who will be a "crier" and usually keep an eye on those people. The best man caught me way off guard while the bride walked down the aisle. It was awesome!
